WARDOGS launcher not starting: Elytra anti-cheat, module download and service fixes
Pressing Play runs WardogsLauncher-Shipping.exe, which: fetches a manifest, downloads and signature-checks three modules (first run only), connects to the anti-cheat service (Elytra.Service), then starts the game and waits for its window. Each stage is logged in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Wardogs\ElytraLauncher.log, so you can see where it stopped instead of guessing.

Repair the anti-cheat framework
- Close Steam.
- Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Elytra Anti-Cheat Framework → Repair (or Uninstall).
- If uninstalled, Steam reinstalls it on the next launch of WARDOGS (verify game files first).
- Check the service exists: Win+R →
services.msc→ Elytra Service. Start mode Manual is normal; the launcher starts it. If it errors on start, your antivirus blocked the driver: whitelistC:\Program Files\Elytra. - Reboot, launch from Steam.
Steam's store box lists Easy Anti-Cheat as kernel-level anti-cheat for WARDOGS; on disk the framework that runs is Elytra, and its service is what the launcher waits for. Both are kernel-level, both hate overlays, RGB suites and macro tools: close them first.
Other programs that interfere
If you also have BattlEye, Easy Anti-Cheat (Epic Online Services) or AntiCheatExpert services from other games, they coexist fine. What doesn't coexist: Afterburner/RivaTuner hooks, Discord overlay, driver-level RGB software, and anything that injects into games.
Antivirus
A launch that worked yesterday and dies at "Connecting to the anti-cheat service" today is usually an antivirus definition update quarantining the framework driver. Restore it from quarantine, whitelist the Elytra folder, repair.
Still stuck
Paste the last five lines of ElytraLauncher.log on the Steam forum along with your GPU and whether you have overlays running. That's enough for BULKHEAD's support to place it.
